First Home Owner Steps for Buying your new home:
Step 1 See your bank for pre-approval
You’ll need to know how much you can afford to pay for your new home. To do so, speak with your bank manager or mortgage broker so you can obtain loan ‘pre-approval’. Most banks can provide you with pre-approval within a couple of days. The pre-approval is subject to the bank's further conditions, most commonly your bank's independent property valuation and will allow you to proceed to step #2: Don’t have a bank? Use ours.

Step 2 Find your first home
You’ve searched the papers, the Internet and all the real estate agents in the area. You’ve been to a thousand open houses and you’ve finally found the one – don’t miss out! Move to step #3!

Step 3 Ask for a contract from the agent
The contract contains information about the property and the terms and conditions which you agree to be bound by after signing the contract. All real estate agents need to have a copy of the contract before listing the property for sale. They will be happy to provide you with an electronic or hard copy at your request. If you don’t have one we’re happy to ask for one for you - contact us now, or simply ask the agent to post or email the contract to us at contract@keira.com.au. Once you have the contract you don't want to miss out - proceed to step #4.
